To assist the energy efficiency needs of Nevada.

Advance the education and use of renewable energy sources throughout Nevada, including biomass, solar, wind, and geothermal alternatives

Advance a roadmap of renewable energy direction for Nevada with support from the Nevada Office of Energy

Advance financial resources available for the research, development, consultation, and implementation ofrenewable energy resources

Goals in 2007 include:

bring biomass to the forefront as a renewable energy source in Nevada

sponsor/co-sponsor a renewable energy conference in Nevada
-
sponsor co-sponsor renewable energy workshops and seminars in Nevada

incorporate the goals of the 25x'25 Alliance within the goals of the Energy Plan of the Nevada State Office of Energy
-
solicit the Governor's Office to support and join the 25x'25 Alliance
-

unite/combine the biomass working group in Nevada
-
create an umbrella for all renewable energy working groups in Nevada
-
increase renewable energy grand awards for Nevada

Progress in 2006 included:

creating Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency sub-committee from the Energy Committee tobring more focus and interest
-
including a Renewable Energy component at the NRDC's Annual Rural Summit in Fallon, NV on December 1-2, 1006 by bringing in a national executive (Mike Bowman) of the 25x'25 Alliance as a guest speaker
-
Continued work on an Energy Grant from the Nevada State Office of Energy
