As identified by the 19 Listening Sessions held across Nevada in fall of 2003, the Leadership Development Committee's Mission in 2007 is to:

  • Support and promote the Leadership Development of individuals and communities throughout Nevada and all Nevada Native American Tribes
  • Support and promote the proposed 'Center for Excellence in Leadership and Civic Engagement' for the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Solicit and obtain 50 Letters of Endorsement by individuals and organizations for the proposed Center
  • Support and promote all new Leadership Programs designed to fall under the umbrella of the proposed Center once it is created
  • Promote advanced Leadership Program levels to encourage leadership development
  • Support and promote Leadership Programs that can be implemented ASAP across Nevada
  • Solicit as much as possible from individual communities the underwriting of leadership program costs for Nevadans

Goals for 2007:
Convene a state-wide Leadership Conference

In 2006, the NRDC organized support for the proposed Center for Excellence in Leadership and Civic Engagement and was the first organization to officially endorse the proposed 'Center' at the Annual Fall Cooperative Extension Advisory Board.
